Vidyashakti was founded in 2010 by Nitya Ganapathy and Aruna Munikrishna in North Carolina in the USA. Since then they have been able to sponsor education for more than 90 girls till date, and they continue to support girl children through shcool and college education.

News & Updates

Vidyashakti has adopted several schools in Tamilnadu and Kerala and their donors have donated funds for infrastructure development, computers, furnitures and study materials for the children.

Smart team

Vidyashakti is supported in India by Zandig Knowledge Foundation, and well-wishers like Dr. Mohana, Dr. Devi, Ms. Uma, Heera, Dhanya and many others. We also remember our founding mentors, Smt. Thangam and Smt. Nalini who were instrumental in our growth.

I wish to Donate for supporting a child. What should I do?

You may contact us through phone or WhatsApp and let us know what amount or how you plan to offer your support. Any amount starting from 100 $ is welcome, and all of it goes towards funding the education of children in India. Alternately, you can contribute in Indian Rupees through our Indian Partner - M/s Zandig Knowledge Foundation, Bangalore. We will be regularly sharing our financial and annual reports with you.

I wish to support the education of one child in school/college. Will I be able to know the progress being made by the child?

Sure. At Vidyashakti, we are regularly in contact with our children and their families and we will be able to send you regular updates.

Hi, I am interested in mentoring the students. How can I join your team?

Thank you. Volunteers are always welcome to join our team. Please drop an email to us at : vidyashakti2018@gmail.com, citing your interest and your skills, so that we can coordinate with our students for online mentoring as per their requirements. Alternately you can join us in our Awareness creation drives and workshops in India and the US.

Hello, I know of a family that needs support in India. Will you be able to take them into your wing?

We encourage you to reach out to this family and try to do your best to extend the support that they require. Vidyashakti has a policy that we support only girl children and for their education. If you are unable to continue your support, you are welcome to direct them to us.

Do you accept donations for other charities like Health care support, or for medicines or surgeries?.

No. Vidyashakti does not provide donation or support for healthcare.

Do you support education or provide support for education for Boys?

No. Vidyashakti was founded for the sole purpose for providing support for the education of underprivileged girl children. We do not provide support for Boys, as a policy.

Do you have any branches in India or other countries?

Yes, in India, we work in collaboration with Zandig Knowledge Foundation, based in Bangalore. We do not have any other branches.

Are Donations made to you, Tax exempted under the 80 G provision in the Indian Tax Law?

Yes, for Donations made in India, or through our Indian partner, M/S. Zandig Knowledge Foundation: We do have an 80G provision or tax exemption.
