Adopt a School Program
At Vidya Shakti for Girls Foundation, we believe education is the most powerful tool to uplift lives. In collaboration with Zandig Knowledge Management Foundation, our Adopt a School Program at Corporation School, Choolaimedu, Chennai, is creating real, measurable impact for underprivileged girls.
Our partnership with MAI School since 2023 has focused on nurturing aspirations, supporting academic journeys, and building skills that prepare girls for brighter futures.
Students at MAI School are actively utilizing the Technology Lab set up by Vidya Shakti. This lab has opened up new avenues for interactive learning and digital literacy, preparing the girls for a tech-enabled future.

Highlights of the Year 2023–24
24 MAI girls received the Vidya Shakti (VS) scholarship this year, providing critical financial support for their education
Out of these, 4 girls—Gopika, Sneha, Sujithra, and Sindhuja—successfully passed their 10th standard exams, with grades ranging from A+ to B+, demonstrating commendable academic achievement and resilience.
A dedicated WhatsApp group for MAI Vidya Shakti girls was launched in 2023 to encourage peer learning, mentorship, and a strong support network.
With the support of Vidya Shakti, a fully equipped Technology Lab was set up within MAI School. This initiative helps bridge the digital divide, especially for girls from under-resourced backgrounds.
Students regularly use the lab for e-learning, typing practice, and exposure to basic coding and online research.
Teachers are also trained to incorporate technology into their classroom instruction, making lessons more interactive and future-ready.
Communication Skills for Confidence
To nurture soft skills and enhance employability, we organized three batches of communication and spoken English training during the academic year.
These sessions focused on public speaking, vocabulary building, conversation skills, and confidence development.
The girls showed remarkable progress, often volunteering to lead group activities and speak in school functions.
MAI SCHOOL – 2025-2026
In 2025, we set up 2 smart classrooms in MAI School. One in the name of Smt. ……….. , mother of Smt. Nitya Ganapathy and another one in the name of Smt. Thangam, sister of Smt. Nitya Ganapathy. (Photos attached).

Voices from the Ground
“The scholarship helped me stay in school and focus on my studies without worrying about money. I want to become a teacher someday.” — Sneha, Class 10 Graduate, MAI School.
“The communication sessions helped me speak English without fear. I can now talk to anyone with confidence.” — Sindhuja, MAI school class 10 Graduate.
“Dear mam, These are the current pictures of the classrooms. One is a medium-sized hall separated with wooden screens. Currently, we are running two classrooms here, 7A & 7B. All other classrooms from classes 5 to 7. (Total 7 divisions) are running in another bigger hall, separated by wooden screens. This Bigger hall also serves as our auditorium. We decided to separate 7A and 7B classrooms permanently to fix our smart classes. Soon the Smart classroom work will start. We expect to complete it as early as possible. We have been thinking for a long time, to conduct classes in smart class rooms for U.P classes and now it has become a reality. This will be a remarkable milestone in the history of our school. We have already sent this message to our parents and this will be a great achievement for our school. It will also help to increase the strength of students. Thank you very much 🙏🙏 – Head Mistress – MAI school.
